Shocking! I refer to the “above the law” results from a research on the quality of L&D in 60 big US legal firms. The researchers asked the opinion of associates in legal firm to rate their training in legal and business skills on a scale of 1-10.
The results speak for themselves: no category managed to even reach six point on average. Let’s hope the firms’ clients do not find out.
More than half of those interviewed agreed that their firm would benefit from partnering with an outside company specializing in training and professional development for the legal profession.
Lawyers should draw their conclustions about whether to continue in teaching the traditional way of to invest in effective and engaging learning.
